Maccabi Taglit Trip Unique Maccabiah program

MWU Sports Leadership Fellowship
1 month program
A unique opportunity to receive top-level training as a sports coach and instructor at Israel's prestigious Wingate Institute: 3 weeks of training and a week of hands-on placement teaching sports to Israeli youth and children. The program begins right after the Maccabiah, creating an experience in Israel combining competition with training and interaction with leading sports figuers in Israel.
Program Components
- 4 days a week of sports leadership training, skills for development of a coaching program, anatomy, physiology, psychology of sports and sport nutrition, the business of sports (marketing, PR, media, drugs) and encounters with leading figures in the world of sports in Israel.
- Week long practicum with youth and children via the medium of sports
- Start Up Nation components: visit to a hi tech start up company, experiential driving at Better Place and visit to The Marker
- Site visits on topics such as religion and State, co-existence, and connecting to the Land through archeology
- Participation in Israeli music, arts and sports events
- Three day Jewish Peoplehood Weekend with peers from around the world and Israel
The program cost is 750$ and it's open to participants in the 2013 Maccabiah through the various delegations. Subject to overall Onward Israel eligibility- participants with one previous short-term Israel experience (Birthright or a teen travel program between the ages of 19-27).
Dates: July 31-August 29 2013 immediately following the Maccabiah

Gap Year program
Maccabi is excited to relaunch its Gap Year and Leadership Program, the Maccabi Sport Leadership Program, which will commence again in 2014.
The outline of the program is below. This program will provide all the Israel Experience you want, coupled with your passion of sport. Through this program Maccabi is looking to enhance your sporting and coaching skills, along with your leadership skills.
